“The Caped Crusaders”

The Caped Crusaders is one of an ongoing series of masked superheroes who aren’t particularly super at all. Inspired by too many comic books, too much television and the sadder side of life.

I was a tree surgeon before I studied Photography at Blackpool in the UK. I left in 1985 and wanted to be an advertising Photographer. Having worked in this field for more years than I care to remember. I am currently exploring my own photographic projects where people have anonymity by the wearing of masks and are out of context in their surroundings. This series of Masked Superheroes is an ongoing project, with other projects having a different take on anonymity planned for the near future.

Selected by Tim Wride, Curator of Photography at the Norton Museum of Art.
