Massimo Barberio

“The !% – Via Labicana”

I was born in Bari in 1983, and I left my family in 1997. Finding myself again in my hometown in 2006, after unsatisfactory studies in philosophy, I found a camera and interest in photography. This led me to take courses in many workshops with photographers such as Frank Dituri and Francesco Zizola, who appoint me as Giacomelli’s “heir”. My works have been exhibited all around Italy and abroad, in London, Miami, New York, Cincinnati, San Diego, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg, winning national and international awards and honorable mention (over all the IPA, WPGA, Px3). Since 2007 I’ve had no settled place of residence, working around Italy and Ireland, covering personal projects and the most important music festivals. Currently I’m working at my first photographic book.
