“Death of Emotions- Mannequins- Gang Rape”
ARTIST STATEMENT
“Death of Emotions” is a series that depicts one’s sensitivity to tragedies around us, as if they were not happening, or the people suffering were not real or do not exist; hence the use of a mannequin to suggest the same. Dilip Bhatia is a 1992 alumni of Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, Ca. After a near two-year stint at the Playboy Studio West in Los Angeles, he started a commercial studio in Mumbai, India. He is the winner of the 2009 WPGA Photographer of the Year, 2009 Hasselblad Masters finalist, and 2009 Communication Arts winner for the Institutional Category. He is also featured in Black and White & Eyemazing magazines. He loves to create art that stands the test of time through concept, content and visual beauty.”
Selected by Anne Lyden, International Photography Curator at the National Galleries of Scotland.
